Life, Tea, & Music
Oct. 6th, 2005 03:16 pmWell, its pay day today, so while I have money I go and spend it.
Booked with Telstra to upgrade my net access to cable. Will happen on the 18th of this month. Took the 5Gb deal.
panda_pitt will no doubt chew up the bandwidth on me VOIPing his girl.
Got a new cable for my guitar (coz Luke took all the cables when he left, though the one that was mine was pretty shot anyway). Looked into what it would cost to get my 1975 6/12-string Ibanez double-neck reconditioned. The pots and wiring are rusted crap, the switches are dicky, and if the wiring is rusted, I don't know what the humbuckers are like internally. So it turns out, that the humbuckers will be between $100 - $200, pots $20 each, and setting up and stringing about $120. So it might cost up to $1000 to get reconditioned. Or not. The Rock Shop guy was pretty practical and said that the pickups usually last OK, so they might not be a problem which would make getting the rest of it done cost about $200. Might be worth it to get it professionally set up, though as I'm out of the scene, I'd appreciate comments form anyone who knows about whether the Rock Shop is a good place to go or not.
Bought some super glue. Bought a couple of packets of cloves.
Decided not to buy Intron Depot 4 - Bullets yet.
Bought a newclear teapot and some wicked red strawberry roobois from T-Leaf. Got the bigger pot to begin with, but will probably get a smaller one later for when it's just me. Will need to decide on some cups too, but the pot was more important, the one I have now is stained by gumboot and cracked and broken Will need to buy more teas in future, there's a nice Earl Grey blend there too.

Date: 2005-10-06 07:58 pm (UTC)Everytime I take my concoction of superglue and cloves, another teenybopper in tiny pastel clothes appears.
It's like saying "I believe in faeries", only different.

Date: 2005-10-06 07:25 pm (UTC)I went to the new one, and while they seemed happy to sell me bits, they didn't seem quite as welll set up as the Rock Shop for servicing.

Date: 2005-10-06 05:36 pm (UTC)Check out my site, I have a page on teas there, including some of my recipes (I really need to update that page.)
Have you tried Tea Total's range of teas?
As for Intron Depot 4. I am not impressed with it but I need to get it for "completions" sake.
