Someone seems to have taken out google

Edit : Well that was the wierdest bug I've run into so far. Couldn't access msn.com or google.com, all three browsaers stated that they couldn't resolve the address, though I could access google.co.nz , and no problems with anything else I tried to access. Restarting programs failed to fix it, but a reboot of the machine did.

Wasn't local network either, as my server (Red Hat linux) had no problems doing so.

Odd.

Hmm, I can get to google.co.nz but not google.com or mail.google.com, and now I can't get to msnbc.com either.

Everything else I've tried still seems to be working though.

Yep, even wierder, I can access from my server, but not my laptop.
I think a reboot is oin order, even though it makes no sensse that some sort of Micrsoft bug woould only prevent me from accessing google and msn.....

DHCP probably failed or something - meaning you didn't have an IP address.

It was the DVD I happened to have around when I wanted to set up the server. I don't have any great preference between linux versions, and I like the Red Hat defaults better than some of the others. I originally intended to use SuSE as the server but the DVD with that on was warped so bad it wouldn't read proper!
