I'm feeling somewhat guilty about not being productive like some people on my flist. I'm planning today on reading some more Absolute Sandman (mm, big leather books are so sexy), playing a lot of Half-Life1*, maybe watching some Escaflowne. In other words enjoying my leisure expenditures for a change.
I've noticed, over the years, that I buy things, and then they sit on shelves or whatever, and I never get round to actually enjoying them, unless there's someone with me encouraging me to do so.
But now, after a project that, in retrospect, was actually quite full-on and stress-full, even though I automatically minimized it and tried to shield both those around me and those in my team from that stress, as is my wont, I am enjoying just blobbing for several days in a row. This is actually the first long break in ages in which I haven't been travelling or attending a convention or something, and while those things are great, they come with their own stressors.
But I wake up here late in the morning, warm, leaf-dappled sunlight streaming in through the windows, a light cooling breeze blowing, the sounds of native birds, and I find I can gag that insistent daemon inside me that keeps saying I should be doing something productive.
Bye for now, I'm off to a few other worlds for the day.
*I purchased the complete Valve collection for USD $74.95 from Steam during their holiday special period, normally it goes for $99, although if you bought all the packages individually you'd be paying $269. So now I legally have access to Half-Life, OppFor, Counterstrike, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress, Day of Defeat, and all the expansions.
