The above are email titles from the Wellington area police mailing list that were in my inbox this morning. Normally there's only one or two. The two car jackings are an oddity, though the crashes are unsurprising given the tropical rainstorm.

A bit scary really, car theft is pretty damn common and more or less unsolvable most of the time (mainly because the pigs don't actually investigate it), but car jacking is a stupid american thing that we don;t want here. I've seen 3 stolen and hacked cars in the last month, 2 of them in Silverstream and one on the hutt river bank by Avalon.

Fortunately I drive a van and that's not a cool enough vehicle to jack. Im getting more and more keen on the idea of compulsory fingerprinting at the age of 16 or so and we need WAY more money for non-sworn crime lab type people to deal with that shit.
