You reminded me obliquely of Unicorn Jelly (http://www.unicornjelly.com/). Last time I read that strip, it wasn't yet done, and after a while I stopped checking daily. But now the story is finished, you can read the whole thing.

It's a manga with a universe model unlike any I've seen elsewhere..
