Forty Six - Naughty Licks
Sep. 17th, 2007 07:24 amSo plans are afoot for a birthday party to celebrate my turning forty six, although the basic idea for this particular party is a couple of years old. ( Inspiration originally from fellow train pooka
evie_fae)
The theme refers to the mix I hope to put together for the party. I'm looking for songs that can be misconstrued in a dodgy manner, whether intentionally by the artist or not. A nice easy example, suggested by
seraphs_folly last night, would be Britney Speirs' Hit Me Baby One More Time. I don't think it's intended to be a BDSM song, but it certainly suits the concept.
It might be pushing it to include something I just happened to run into on Trade Me last night while scanning $1 auctions, but which I at least thought humorously apropos, Swedish Christian artist Evie's I surrender all / I need thee every hour
As you can tell from that last example, I'm looking for help from other's to expand the list. If you can provide an mp3 of the tune you're suggesting even better, If I don't get enough tracks for the theme, I'll just pad it out with actually dodgy hits, like NiN's Closer and similar.
Even if you can't help with the music, you're invited. The theme extends to costuming, should you dare. I may even be able to arrange a dungeon (in the obvious place) for the more hardcore...
The party will be on Saturday, November 17th, at my place (address will be provided separately for those that need it).
Edit: Party renamed to
seraphs_folly's much saucier and better rhyming suggestion.

Date: 2007-09-16 09:20 pm (UTC)Also - the song that started me thinking about this:
Rachael Yamagata - Worn me Down Worn me down, to my knees, I did anything to please
I'll be back with more. ^^

Date: 2007-09-16 11:05 pm (UTC)Push It by Garbage. Pretty sure you know the song so no need to cite lyrics :)
Pill by Boom Boom Satellites. The chorus is all repeating: Take me anywhere you want me baby, take me, I'm gonna drive you crazy, anywhere you want me baby
Beat It by Boom Boom Satellites. Push and push, don't be afraid to push faster, yeah, pump it, pump it. and I gotta beat it, keep repeating, it goes right round and it's all there also I know I'd rather be loose, I poke my hand into the noose
Because the BBS are Japanese it's really difficult to understand what they are saying at times, so it's easy to misconstrue.
Virgin Sexy (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/sugababes/virginsexy.html) or
Freak Like Me (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/sugababes/freaklikeme.html) by the Sugababes
Actually, it's really easy to find songs that are overtly sexual or dodgy. I think most of these are just blatantly sexual. I dunno.

Date: 2007-09-16 11:30 pm (UTC)I'm more interested at present in ones that are either pretty clearly not intentional, or at least hide their intent well enough that only dirty-minded individuals like myself giggle at them.

Date: 2007-09-18 09:04 pm (UTC)I definitely agree about Come on Eileen, it's one of my favourite songs, actually! :)

Date: 2007-09-18 08:30 pm (UTC)Perfect Circle - the Noose (*cough*)
VAST - Pretty When You Cry (because, come *on* - "I didn't want to fuck you but you're pretty when you're mine")
Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch ("please destroy me this way")
Perfect Circle - Pet ("I'll keep you safe from pain, truth, choice; all those poison devils" <- dysfunctional, but. Y'know. Appealing as fuck.)
Massive Attack - Butterfly Caught ("kneeling like a supplicant")
Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps (okay, this song just kinda *sounds* like sex, but they do repeat the line "she comes" rather a lot :) )
NIN - The Hand That Feeds ("will you bite the hand that feeds/will you stay down on your knees")
30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill ("what if I wanted to break?")
Tool - Stinkfist ("elbow deep inside the border line/relax, turn around and take my hand")
Tool - 4 Degrees (well, the title is a reference to anal sex :) )
Tool - Prison Sex (hallo :) )
Fur Patrol - Precious ("You crawl through the house/And under the bed/There's no use to hide/I've come for your head/You're very precious to me/I'll keep you in line")
That'll do for now? Any of these I have in mp3 form (Tool might just be on cd, but easy enough to rip), although I don't want to upload a bunch of stuff just now because I'm nearly at the cap.
November 17th is shitloads of warning, though, so I can upload stuff at the start of next month with no problems :). I have... god, I have so much stuff.

Date: 2007-09-18 09:09 pm (UTC)I think I have the Perfect Circle, NIN, and Tool stuff, I'll let you know if I haven't. I may even have the Fur Patrol. I have the "Pet" album (which I want to include things from purely because of the title of the album) but I'm not intimately familiar with what tracks are on it.

Date: 2007-09-18 09:20 pm (UTC)Oh, Tori Amos - Raspberry Swirl :). I want to suggest David Bowie/NIN - I'm Afraid Of Americans, purely because it's another one where the music/style is quite sexual, even though the lyrics really aren't :).

Date: 2007-09-18 09:30 pm (UTC)Heh, I love it when people think the same way! I'd already decided Raspberry Swirl should be in the mix, just trying to decide on which version... :)
I think I'm also going to include things like Floyd's Great Gig In the Sky because a screaming orgasm set to music just seems appropriate. :)
And I'll be dredging up my old art rock collection to throw in classics like Genesis' Back in New York City:
