Bathroom Life
Mar. 19th, 2008 01:07 pmGot a bit of a surprise this morning when a baby bush weta leapt on my shoulder shortly after I entered the shower. I say baby because it only had leg span of about 15cm. Unfortunately, it immediately leapt off again, landing in the base of the shower and jumping a few times before drowning. It was unfortunate I wasn't quick enough before it got it's legs, through which it breathes, in the water.
Earlier I had noticed another of what is becoming a quite common type of spider around our house, which had decided the bathroom door was it's territory and was defending it from me vigorously. It's a standard "jumping" spider (salticidae), but with a metallic gold abdomen.
