I had another dream that involved large rambling houses last night.

I believe I was trying to run a LARP with the usual suspects, but for some reason had left all the players to their own devices for some time. They had all split off to various parts of the house and I was running round trying to get them all together again

Evie & Jarrat had barricaded themselves into some aort of bunk room with multiple two-tier bunks. They had piled all the mattresses from the bunks on the floor and were going to sleep there because they didn't like the bunks.

Dez & Matt were playing card games (surprise!) in a room ruound a table with a whole pile of people, whoma lls seemed familiar, but I couldn't place them.

I can't remember where everyone else was, but on the way while looking for them I found my sister Veronica had brought a whole pile of Moslems (of the angry young Levantines in suits with close and well trimmed black beards variety) home with her, and Ben (my youngest son) was unintentionally mocking them by doing the same actions as they were doing in their devotions toward Mecca back to them.

Afetr having defused that potentially volatile situation, I moved on, and only remember running into a 1/300 scale architect's model of the rambling house I was in and much of it's surrounds. I rememeber thinking "That would make a great terrain board for Epic 40K, and then realized that someone hasd already had a similar idea, as there were a pair of 1/300 PzKfw VI "Tiger" tanks nestled into the terrain around the road leading up to the building.

It was about now that I lost track of what was going on. I wanted to take a shortcut, so I slipped "behind the scenes" where the entire building could be scene as if it was a television or film set inside a huge hangar-like building. I thwarted some villian who was trying to open the hangar door, which would have let the wind and rain from "behind the scenes" in, effectively trashng the "set".

I remember feeling annnoyed that all the documentation was being stored in the one room that was exposed to the outside.

I remember that the house was on a cliff overlooking the entrance to a bay, and that an even taller cliff faced us, with tiny (but expensive and very stylish) houses clinging to it's sheer surface.

I remember think about jumping across to them, though we were almost as far apart as the Wellington Heads. At the time it seemed perfectly reasonable that I would just grow big enough that the distance was just a step

Now I have nothing against dreams of rambling houses, but having more of them would begin to be worrying.

I have read "The House on the Borderlands", which might be considered to the archetypical dreams and rambling houses horror story. I have played a young girl who had worms crawl into her ears in Donna's CoC game.
I read "The Dreams of Unknown Kadath" and many similar works.

The following day I found myself physically run down and approaching a depression.

Overall I am remembering dream more and more recently.

Are the borders breaking down? Is my mind slipping into the Dreamlands?

Or is this all because my cat is secretly an invader from another world, and has been sleeping on my pilow feeding images into my brain?
